25 years ago, the Carandá marketplace (Braga Portugal) was one of the first public projects designed by the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura. In 2011, and by the hand of the same architect, the School of Music rises, resulting of a redevelopment plan. Besides the structure, a fundamental aspect for the well being of the school, the building provides an independent auditorium opened to the public. In this new building, there is still evidence of the previous marketplaces architectural elements (pillars, stairs) emphasizing the evolving nature of this place.
